Heroes Field Hockey Academy

Heroes Field Hockey Academy is a new club in New England. Based just outside of Boston, Heroes Field Hockey is committed to deliver a top notch field Hockey experience to all at each event. We provide training opportunities for all ages and focus our attention on individual skill development, grow the love of the game and do so in positive learning environments. We believe all our sessions should be FUN & LEARNING.

Heroes Field Hockey is led by Megan McGuin and Tjerk van Herwaarden (TJ).

Megan McGuin currently serves as the PE teacher and head Field Hockey coach at Nashoba Brooks School. After a successful playing career at the University of Delaware, Coach McGuin received national recognition as head coach at a D3 program and since then has coached successfully at the D1, high school and club team levels. She holds the USA Level 2 Coaching Certification.

After 18 years of coaching in the NCAA, Tjerk van Herwaarden has won 5 National Championships at the University of Maryland and 4 Ivy League titles. while serving as the head coach at Harvard. Tjerk is a former coach for the US women’s national team and is a FIH Coach and Coach Educator. Well regarded as one of the best coaches in the NCAA, Tjerk brings a wealth of experience and a level of field hockey expertise while working directly with the athletes.
